ENDA A/W 2018 “Voyage” Collection is based on the story of Young Ayako, the former seamstress at Sasebo Naval Base who fell in love with an American Marine during WWII, for whom harbors have become the place of nostalgia, pure joy and sorrow.
Inspired by Ayako’s story, the designer uses soft and flowing fabric expressing somewhat fragile and sorrowful femininity, in contrast to the blue stripes and sailor-esque detail that symbolize strong masculinity. The dark color tone reminds us of the dreamy ocean in winter, connecting all the elements in harmony. The new collection embraces the emotional journey that women can resonate with at any time and the excitement of new horizons.
